Prize money attributed to each rider by ProCyclingStats across WorldTour and ProSeries races to 12 September 2026. In practice it is pooled and split among the team's riders and staff — this is what a rider brought in, not what he kept. Total: €8M against €271.6M of salaries.
Highest prize money relative to salary
Riders on at least €100k. A high share means a cheap rider who won a lot — usually a young rider on a first contract, or a stage-race specialist who cleaned up at a ProSeries race.
Most prize money generated since 2022
Five seasons of WorldTour and ProSeries prize lists (PCS), 2022 to 12 September 2026, for riders in the 2026 peloton. Still pooled, still shared — everyone's five-year total, about €40M, is less than one season of salaries at the two biggest teams.
Estimated prize share received, 2026
A model of what each rider actually pocketed: every race's team pot split equally among the team's starters at that race, after 15% to staff. It ignores individual team keys and leaders who waive their share (which only pushes the helpers' figure higher). Total distributed to WT riders ≈ €6.1M; median rider €6,715 (2.3% of salary).
Highest share received relative to salary
Where the prize pot matters most: low-paid riders on winning teams. A neo-pro who rode a Grand Tour beside a winner can add half his salary again.
