About How to Turn Pro

A reference site for the money side of pro cycling: what riders earn, how long they're signed for, and who represents them — built from public sources, with the method published, and corrected in public.

It started with a question a lot of us had as kids: how much does a pro actually make, and how do you get there? The results side of the sport is superbly covered by ProCyclingStats and FirstCycling. The money side isn't — it lives in scattered Gazzetta lists, UCI averages, and agency rosters nobody has put together. This site puts them together.

What's here now

• Men's WorldTour 2026: 540 riders, 18 teams, 32 agencies. Estimated salaries, contract status, agency, and the rankings that fall out of that.
• Men's ProTeams 2026 (the second division): 422 riders on 16 teams, with the same salary model and prize-money data. No agency data yet.

What's coming

• Women's WorldTour — same structure, autumn 2026.
• The road to pro — how junior and U23 riders actually reach the WorldTour: development teams, first contracts, agents who take on young riders, what a junior season costs. Written for riders and parents. No salary figures for minors, ever.
• Women's ProTeams, and other sports later, if this one earns it.

Rules we hold ourselves to

• "Estimate" is always written where it applies. Reported and modelled figures are never mixed without a label.
• Every number has a source or a method on the page.
• Corrections are accepted from anyone, applied in public, and credited.
• No salary or money figures for riders under 18.
• Not affiliated with any team, agency, media outlet or the UCI. No paid placements.
